That sleek black finish, with a hint of customisable LED lights, really makes for an attractive piece of hardware that doesn’t look like it’s over the top, or trying too hard. Look, I know I’m a big Logitech fan, but I honestly don’t think I’m being even remotely subjective in saying that the G502 is a gorgeous looking mouse. Unboxing it however, yielded a device that is almost the exact same size as my G500s just the teeniest bit sleeker. This initially lead me to believe that the mouse itself was a lot more compact than what I’m used to. The box for the G502 is surprisingly skinny. Seeing a pattern here? Yeah, I’m quite the fan of Logitech mice, so imagine my excitement when their latest offering, the G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB tunable gaming mouse, ended up on my doorstep for review. I moved on to the more modern G500, and a few years later, to the mouse I’m using now, the G500s. The only reason I didn’t keep using it was because, well I had to keep with the times. That mouse served me for around 8 years, and it still works today. It later became obvious however, that I needed something more than my no-name brand mouse to take my skills to the next level.īased on a friend’s recommendation, I saved up some cash and threw it at a blue optical MX510. ![]() I played a plethora of multiplayer titles at several LANs, and later, online. Also, we noticed that the clicks of the buttons are much louder, as for example at the G9X. Thus, the suspension travel is still quite large. However, here would be more possible if the pressing-range would be little bit shorter. Here we present the result of clicks after 15 seconds which are quite impressive. Then, we tested how many clicks per minute are possible with this mouse and the built-in-buttons. And so had, after a few days, a flawless copy in our hands. On request, Logitech telephone support told us, that this is a production error, and mice with this problem are exchanged.Īt least in terms of transparency and service, Logitech was able to score regarding the Proteus Core. In addition to that there are some deep scratches on the slide feet, which led to a slight scratching on a cloth mouse pad. However, what is more serious, is the fact that our test pattern already had worn out slide feet although it was a brand new sealed mouse. This does not leave a good impression, because the LED fields themselves are poorly made. Unfortunately the DPI LED Display is not build very well so that the light shines through the edges of the display due to the relatively large gaps. Let us now talk about a less attractive point: The overall quality of the mouse. To paint individual pixels and to color large areas. Thanks to the rapid DPI switching the gamer can switch fast between a sniper precision and the speed as the vehicle crew.Īlso when it comes to Image processing the Proteus Core performs very well. But then the other group needs very precise mouse movement to meet as a sniper to hit his target even two kilometers away.īoth disciplines are mastered by the Proteus Core very well. The first one needs fast movement in various vehicles or as pilot to conceive goals or avoid powerlines. Right here collide two groups of mouse users. Here again we used the well-known military simulation ArmA 3 together with the Cyber Snipa mousepad. Now her task is to show a good performance to deliver at her best discipline: Gaming! The Proteus core not only looks good but also is technically up to date, proven by the test so far. Logitech Proteus Core G502 Tested Logitech G502 Proteus Core Mouse Setup and Test Results … ![]()
